Magic of micro-hoping.

Getting kicks from the little wins.

Awesome stuff doesn’t happen every day. But little moments of magic give us the same buzz. Here’s how to plan for them to keep the good times rolling.

What is it?
Small self-managed tasks that you can easily nail throughout the day. Crossing them off the list will give you a buzz. So then you can set another one. It’s addictive.

Who is it for?

  • People who feel like they’ve not had a win in a while.

  • People looking to wrangle their to-do list.

How does it work?

Some days you feel on top of the world and everything feels easy. Others - not so much. These are known as Virtuous and Vicious circles, and they look a bit like this.

When you’re in a Virtuous circle, you find yourself easily smashing your way through the day. And the more you tick off, the dopamine hit of achievement gives your brain a buzz. It makes you feel good, so you do it again.

But we can’t all have those big wins every day. And even if we did, they’d lose their impact. So we have to get our kicks from the little wins instead. We call it micro-hoping.

Start small - you snagged the perfect car park, win. You tidied your desk, win. You set yourself a challenge to clear your inbox and grab a coffee. Win, win, win.

When you start micro-hoping, you’ll feel the buzz as you tick off the little wins in your day-to-day. And better yet - you’ll be spinning in a Virtuous circle in no time.
